Last month, I moved the website hosting for Model-Train-Tips.com from GoDaddy.com to Bluehost.com
. I did this for two reasons; to save money and to improve page loading times.
I’ve been building and marketing websites for a few years, but over the past year I’ve learned a lot about hosting companies. It’s not that GoDaddy is a bad hosting company; they’re not. In fact, they’re better than the previous hosting company I used over a year ago. I’ve just upgraded now that my GoDaddy hosting contract ended; kind of like we do with cell phones.
GoDaddy is a decent hosting company and I continue to use them for registering domain names. However, after using Bluehost for most of my other websites, I found them to have slightly better page loading times than GoDaddy. I also find Bluehost easier to use and less expensive.
I don’t want to go into too much detail but I thought some of you might be interested in why I made the change.
Anyway, I really wanted to let you know that I did make the change and to ask you to keep an eye out for any bad links or missing graphics; sometimes things get overlooked during a move. If you find any bad links I’d appreciate it if you’d drop me a line using the contact form below or the one on the Contact page.
Thanks
Rick
